Paul Weller - Other Aspects: live at the royal festival hall (2019)

El último trabajo del Modfather me sigue pareciendo sobresaliente. A pesar de sus muchos detractores creo que firmó uno de los mejores discos del 2018. Sin duda "True Meanings" caló a nivel personal, y creo que puede presumir de tener media docena de canciones magistrales siendo el resto notable. Uno que ya comienza a sabérserlas todas y a verlas venir, intuía que tarde o temprano aquellas preciosas canciones con sus arreglos de etiqueta serían presentadas en directo con orquestación y toda la mandanga, como así ha sido. Grabados durante dos sesiones, 11 y 12 de Octubre, en el Royal Albert Hall londinense, Weller presenta muchos de los temas de su último disco y alguno que otro del pasado, de su "22 Dreams", de su etapa con The Jam e incluso con Style Council, todos con arreglos clásicos que les hacen algo diferentes a nuestros oídos, pero los que brillan son los de su último disco, dejando ver que algunos de ellos son ya auténticos clásicos. Es un directo sinfónico, totalmente complementario a su disco original. Un disco para fans para nada imprescindible pero sí de una calidad por encima de la media.
